you know snoop dog?

 Sun, Sep 30, 2018, 9:33 PM

We have no progressing investigators, so this week felt long, but ayos lang because it's all in the Lords timing!!

i dont have much time today but basically we were htbt and brt'ing a person and he had metal on his teeth that weren't braces, and i was like "is that a grill?" and he was like "whats a grill?" and so i said "ummmm... do you know snoop dog?" and they were like "smooch dog?" and basically long story short, i had to explain to them what a grill was and who snoop dog was.

:)

In my studies this past week i read Alma 36 and shoooot so relatable. I wish i could explain all the inspiration i received, but just know, THE ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST IS REAL. It not only will help us through our trials and afflictions, but it will also help us in days when we feel like we just can't do it. I've learned this the past few months and really relied on his help to get me through some rough days. Take advantage of the atonement in your life. He paid for each and every one of our sins, so don't procrastinate repentance. Repentance is truly a gift! Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and he will pick you up when you feel like you can't go on. I know this to be true -- and i wish so badly for each of you to know this for yourself!

I love you all, have a good week!

went to a concert

This past week we had transfers, and so a few different families in the ward fed us!!! We never get fed in Mindoro. First time ive been full in months. One family we had "Lamaw" and had to scrape out coconut meat for it... HOLY COW BEST THING IVE HAD HERE. It was so delicious.

another family has a son who goes to Manila for singing competitions and he sang us a few songs. he. is. so. good. The uploading is taking a while so i cant send a vid. oh btw i think that perfect by ed sheeran is the philippines national anthem becasue it plays EVERYWHERE.

Not much really happened this week, but I had some really good personal studies that were able to help a few people we met and taught. If you have a chance, read the article in the April 2016 Liahona called "Recognizing Satan's Counterfeits". SO GOOD.

A fav scripture this week is Mosiah 24:13-14

13 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage.

14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.

we are still going to have trials in life, but Heavenly Father is there to help us and to help us carry those burdens. He is always there!! He puts us in situations where we may be able to rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and strengthen our testimony of our Savior.

s/o to my tennessee ward back at home for placing 115 BOM in the past 10 weeks!!!!!!! Thats insane! So proud of you all. Know that no effort is wasted.

Love you all so much and pray for you everyday!

Hellooooo

The other day after church, a member came up to me, he's never talked to me ever, and says in FULL english  "Sister, you look like Mariah Carey." and walked away hahaha. love filipinos.

I was telling my kabahays and other missionaries how David Archuleta is in my YSA ward back at home and apparently he was called to Quezon City Mission, but was too famous in the ppines and got reassigned to Mexico?? i need someone to comfirm this for me. lmk in the comments below

My first transfer we had 8 baptisms!!! SO AWESOME. I was able to see some of the investigators really change their life and they're just so happy now. The girls that got baptized even told us how they want to serve missions. They're so cute :,)

We are back to square one on finding new people to teach. This past week we've been broken up with by 2 people, and stood up by one. hahaha its all good though, the philippines is thriving and this transfer we will find the scattered israel!

We had a typhoon this week too, don't worry, all is well. I hope my mom wasn't freaking anyone out back at home haha love u mom.

A miracle that happened yesterday-- so i was reading alma 8 and it talks about alma going out preaching the gospel and everyone has hard hearts not accepting his words, so he turned around (similar to me rn) and then God sends an angel to tell him to rejoice and to turn back. He turns back and a man named Amulek feeds him

So yesterday we taught a lesson to a man who goes to iglesia ni cristo (look it up-- so nuts) and that just made me a little flustered lol. and so we were walking to our next appt and all i wanted was a bananaQ. those suckers are SOOO good. but i knew of only one place to find it and it was malayo. then all of a sudden i look to my left right after i said i wanted one, and bam. miracles do exist. there was a bananaQ stand right there.

LOVE YOU ALL heres some fun pics wish i had time to explain

Elder Schmutz

I am in San Jose which is the southern part of Mindoro for mission tour! A member from the general authority, Elder Schmutz, came and talked to us and holy cow it was amazing. i dont have time to share more but WOW the spirit was so powerful.

We had three baptisms this past saturday and IT WAS SO HAPPY. One of them was a part member family, and the dad and his son got baptized. They're probably one of my favorite families. I'm so excited to be able to go to the temple with them in a year for when they get sealed!

Since we are here in san jose, i dont have my camera chord :/ sorry no pics this week. Gotta go! love you all. Remember to take advantage of the atonement of Jesus Christ because he paid for each and every one of you. Repent always!! He loves you and SO DO I !

MIRACLES

 Helloo all

this week flew.

focusing on the people and their needs and really trying to help them has made me truly appreciate and love this place! The members here are so loving towards me, even when i cant communicate with them. THE KIDS ARE SO CUTE. Makes me miss my siblings so much.

we had 4 baptisms and it was so awesome. i wish i had time to say more, but it was a really special experience. the pics say it all.

we had a few miracles happen. there were a few days this week where we started off the day not teaching any lessons which is a bummer in the pppines bc average lessons taught here a day is 4-5. then all of a sudden a man asked us who we were and was saying how he has been searching for churches and has gone to all of them but never heard of ours. So we told him all about us and what we were doing here, and people are always shook when they find out im an american. anyways, we gave him a BOM and when we went to teach him a few days later, he was telling us how much he just wanted to finish the book. IT WAS AMAZING. im really excited to see what happens with him.

there were so many tender mercies this week, but my times up.

Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us and is just waiting to give you blessings!!!

LOVE YOU ALL.
